Gogo unveils Galileo roadmap to continue enhancing customer investments through the mid 2030s and beyond
Gogo has unveiled its long-term vision for the Galileo connectivity platform at NBAA-BACE 2026, outlining a roadmap designed to enhance and protect customer investments well into the mid-2030s and beyond. The strategy provides aircraft owners and operators with the confidence to invest today, backed by a clear upgrade path that will support growing connectivity demands throughout the operational life of their aircraft.
Positioned as a future-ready, best-in-class connectivity solution for business aviation and military/government operators, Gogo Galileo is built on a flexible chassis architecture capable of supporting successive generations of technology. Customers deploying Galileo today, whether with the HDX or FDX antenna, will benefit from a defined and predictable pathway to increased performance as onboard systems and satellite capabilities continue to evolve.
Looking ahead, the platform is also expected to deliver broader global service availability as additional countries approve low-Earth-orbit satellite operations, further expanding connectivity options and ensuring Galileo remains aligned with the industry's long-term requirements.
Chris Moore, CEO of Gogo commented: “Installing connectivity is a long-term investment in an aircraft’s capability, productivity and appeal. Connectivity technology is evolving more rapidly now than ever before and our customers deserve to know their investment will serve them years from now. With Galileo, they are buying into a platform with a clear development plan, designed to deliver increasing value over the next decade, helping keep their multimillion-dollar aircraft productive and competitive as connectivity expectations evolve. Our commitment extends well beyond the day the system is installed,” Moore adds. “We are planning the technology, the upgrade path and the support around the full life of our customers’ investment. They can put Galileo to work today with confidence that we will continue to lead the evolution of inflight connectivity as we have for nearly 30 years."
Gogo has placed supply chain resilience at the core of its Galileo strategy, ensuring the system remains readily available for operators planning installations today and well into the future. Through optimized supply chain management, the company aims to maintain consistent product availability over the next decade, giving customers the flexibility to adopt Galileo according to their operational timelines and fleet requirements.
Equally important is Gogo’s commitment to safeguarding existing customer investments. The planned upgrade path between the HDX and FDX systems is being designed to leverage as much of the current installation infrastructure as possible, including antenna mounts, fairings, wiring, and existing Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs). Increased commonality across Gogo’s onboard connectivity ecosystem will also provide operators with greater flexibility to adapt their capabilities as mission profiles and connectivity demands evolve. By minimizing installation complexity, aircraft downtime, and upgrade costs, Gogo seeks to make access to future performance enhancements as seamless as possible.
Backed by ongoing hardware innovation and advances in satellite network capabilities, Gogo expects to introduce major performance enhancements approximately every two years over the next six years. The company is targeting download speeds up to five times faster than current levels and upload speeds up to ten times greater, delivering a significantly more capable in-flight connectivity experience that increasingly rivals, and in some cases exceeds, terrestrial broadband performance.
The Galileo roadmap is further supported by a parallel strategy to expand and enhance capacity in space. Increased satellite resources, advanced technologies, and more sophisticated service management tools are expected to deliver higher performance, dynamically allocate capacity where it is needed most, and provide customers with greater visibility, control, and confidence in their connectivity experience.
Gogo’s roadmap for the Gogo Galileo, including the HDX seen here, provides a basis for owners and operators to invest confidently today, with a clear path to meet rising connectivity expectations over the life of their aircraft.
