HondaJet APMG S upgrade package earns EASA validation
HondaJet Classic and APMG operators across the European Union can now access the latest enhancements developed for the HondaJet family following the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s validation of the HondaJet APMG S upgrade package. The approval extends the benefits of Honda Aircraft Company’s newest certified advancements to a broader fleet of in-service aircraft across the region.
The validation also strengthens opportunities within the pre-owned HondaJet market, providing owners and prospective buyers with a clear pathway to upgrade earlier-generation aircraft to the APMG S standard. Customers can choose either to retrofit an existing aircraft or acquire a pre-owned HondaJet that has already been upgraded, enabling easier access to the platform’s latest performance and capability enhancements.
Honda Aircraft Company is making the APMG S modification package available through its Greensboro, North Carolina, Service Center as well as its global network of Authorized Service Centers. In Europe, upgrade installations will be carried out by Rheinland Air Service in Germany, an authorised HondaJet dealer and service provider.
Amod Kelkar, Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer at Honda Aircraft company commented: "At Honda Aircraft Company, we are deeply committed to continuously enhancing value by bringing meaningful innovation to customers throughout their ownership journey. We are pleased to make these enhancements available to more customers across Europe and to continue supporting the success of the global HondaJet community.”
The HondaJet APMG S upgrade package introduces:
- Faster avionics processing through upgraded hardware and software, providing a foundation for future technology enhancements across the legacy HondaJet fleet.
- Advanced Steering Augmentation System (ASAS), a key feature introduced on the HondaJet Elite S, enhancing handling precision and crosswind capability.
- 300-lb (136-kg) increase in Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW) over legacy aircraft, expanding useful load capability and operational flexibility.
- Graphical Weight and Balance functionality, enabling pilots to quickly calculate takeoff and landing weights using loading and fuel data.
Following regulatory approvals in the United States, Mexico and the European Union, the HondaJet APMG S upgrade package is now accessible to the majority of the global HondaJet fleet. The latest validation milestone further expands the availability of the enhancement package, allowing more operators to benefit from the platform’s most advanced certified capabilities.
With approvals secured across several of its key markets, Honda Aircraft Company remains committed to investing in upgrade solutions that enable customers worldwide to access the latest advancements in aircraft performance, technology and operational efficiency. Additional validation applications are currently progressing through international certification processes, with further approvals to be announced as they are achieved.
