VEB is going to take part in financing deliveries of Sukhoi SuperJet 100 to Mexico
Vnesheconombank (VEB), United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) and SuperJet International S.p.A. signed a memorandum of cooperation at MAKS-2015 airshow.
The document was signed by the First Deputy Chairman – member of the VEB Management Board, Petr Fradkov, UAC President Yuri Slusar, SCAC President Ilya Tarasenko and SuperJet International S.p.A. CEO Nazario Cauceglia.
Under the memorandum the parties will finance a project for delivery of 10 Sukhoi Superjet 100 manufactured by SCAC to one of the Mexico’s largest air carriers - Interjet (ABC Aerolineas SA de C.V) using a credit and leasing mechanism. Prior to delivery, the aircraft will be customized at SuperJet International center in Venice (Italy), VEB noted.
VEB has been financing export deliveries of Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft since 2013. Earlier Vnesheconombank (as a part of consortium of international banks) reached an agreement for financing deliveries of 20 SSJ 100 airliners to Interjet; insurance was provided by SACE (Italy), Coface (France) and EKSAR (Russia). Natixis acted as an agent bank. So far the banks have financed deliveries of 15 jets of the type. Deliveries of the rest five liners should be financed in 2015-2016.
Implementation of the memorandum for financing deliveries of 10 additional SSJ 100 liners to Mexico will help promote Russian aircraft at the market of Latin America, and will pave the way for further development of the partnership between Russian exporters and international customers, participants of the signing ceremony noted.
