Lufthansa Technik and Emirates extend A380 base maintenance services

Lufthansa Technik and Emirates have reinforced their long‑standing strategic partnership with the renewal of a multi‑year agreement covering base maintenance services for Emirates’ Airbus A380 fleet. Under the extended contract, Lufthansa Technik Philippines, the company’s dedicated widebody base‑maintenance center in Asia, will continue to perform heavy maintenance checks on Emirates’ A380 aircraft through 2030, ensuring sustained reliability and operational excellence for the world’s largest A380 operator.

The program is already underway at Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ existing maintenance facility in Manila, where two dedicated base maintenance lines have been assigned to Emirates. The airline will also become the launch customer for Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ new facility at Clark International Airport, once operations commence.

The agreement is one of the largest by value in the history of Lufthansa Technik Philippines and highlights the strength and continuity of the relationship between the two companies. As the world’s largest operator of the Airbus A380, Emirates has relied on Lufthansa Technik’s extensive expertise in heavy maintenance for its flagship double-deck aircraft since 2023. To date, Lufthansa Technik Philippines has successfully completed more than 30 A380 checks for the airline.
