In that occasion, FIDAE used three hangars of El Bosque Air Base, gathering 32 exhibitors from thirteen countries, with a total of 113 stands, which they were visited by 115,000 people. The FACh displayed the Cessna A-37B and T-37, Hawker Hunter, F-5E Tiger II, the foreign Casa C-101 from Spain, IA58 Pucara of Argentina and EMB-110 Bandeirante of Brazil, among others.
From 1990, FIDA moved to Los Cerrillos Airdrome and changed its name into International Air and Space Fair (FIDAE), as a response that in that time it was commemorated the “International Year of the Space”, since then, the event incorporated this field to the exhibition with an extraordinary success. Thanks to its continuous growth, in 2006, FIDAE moved to the north side of the Arturo Merino Benitez Airport, being its current location.
In its more than thirty-five years of existence, FIDAE has demonstrated to be the leading business centre within the region, by reaching its consolidation in the world’s fair circuit, along with being considered the platform with more influence for the renewal decisions and investment in aerospace and defence technologies of Latin America, turning into the showcase of the principal brands and a meeting point for executives with high decision power.
