"Antique Water" Served on Aircraft, Expired in 2007?
A passenger from Chongqing reportedly claimed she drank "antique water" that expired in 2007 served on AirAsia (AK) flight from Thailand back to Chongqing last Sunday, Aerotropolis Daily reported yesterday.
The female passenger made her first journey abroad and was offered a bottle of Aura-branded mineral water on her way back by traveling through AirAsia flight. Yet words "EXP.20071700" were written below the bottleneck outside, which arouse Miss Huang's focus on the water's expiration date in the year of 2007 about 8 years ago.
Airline insiders explained that the Aura-branded water is form local Thailand, which is offered on several local airlines' flights. Each country has its own description way of expressing the expiration date. China arranges the sequence from year, month to date, Europe uses date, month and year, and the U.S. from month, date to year.
In Thailand the expiration date is expressed by date, month and year. So "EXP.20071700" means Miss Huang's mineral water will expire on July 20, 2017.
