Beijing Capital Airport Handles 44 Million Passengers in H1
As many as 44.07 million people traveled through Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) in the first half of this year, according to the statistics released by the company on Wednesday.
During the first six months of 2015, PEK handled 291,000 aircraft movements, up 2.58% year on year. Passenger numbers increased 5.99% to 44.07 million compared with the same period last year, in which international passengers accounted for 24.28% with a year-on-year increase of 0.5%. Cargo volume rose 2.84% to 896,000 tonnes.
The first-half results were better than expectation, said Shi Boli, general manager of the company, which laid a good foundation for becoming an international aviation hub.
