Jetstar to Link Wuhan with Gold Coast
Australia's low-cost carrier Jetstar Airways (JQ) will launch a nonstop flight linking the Gold Coast with central China's Wuhan city starting Sep. 29.
The twice-weekly service will be operated by a wide-body B787-800 Dreamliner on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with a nine and a half hours' single trip.
Jetstar will build its presence in Chinese tourism market and further expand its coverage range by connecting flights from the Gold Coast to Sydney, Melbourne, Keynes, Auckland in New Zealand and other regions.
It's learned that this will be the fourth transcontinental service departing from Wuhan after Paris, Moscow and San Francisco services, making it the sixth city in mainland China that can reach four continents via nonstop flights.
Up to the end of August, Wuhan Tianhe International Airport(WUH) has served 1,173,000 international and regional passengers with a year-on-year growth of 40.9%, ranking the first in central China.
