LATAM Airlines Brazil and Embraer celebrate a new chapter with the airline’s first E195-E2
LATAM Airlines Brazil and Embraer have marked a major milestone with the commencement of deliveries of the carrier’s first-ever E195-E2. Scheduled to enter commercial service in the coming days, the new-generation aircraft will support LATAM’s continued network expansion across Brazil, where the airline has grown its domestic footprint from 44 airports six years ago to 63 destinations today.
The aircraft is the first of 12 E195-E2s set to join LATAM’s fleet by the end of 2026. Its arrival represents the next phase of the airline’s fleet modernization and growth strategy, following LATAM Airlines Group’s September 2025 announcement of plans to acquire up to 74 E195-E2 aircraft from Embraer.
Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Airlines Brazil commented: “We chose the E195-E2 with a clear objective: to continue expanding LATAM’s presence in Brazil sustainably. With the E2, we will connect new markets with strong demand and economic potential to our global network, allowing us to surpass the milestone of 70 airports served in Brazil as early as 2027.”
Francisco Gomes Neto, CEO of Embraer stated: “We are proud to celebrate the completion of LATAM Airlines Brazil’s first E195-E2. This aircraft will play an important role in the company's strategy to expand its connectivity, offering the ideal combination of efficiency, operational flexibility, and comfort. It is gratifying to see the E195-E2 contributing to connecting new destinations and supporting the development of air transportation in Brazil.”
Expanding connectivity across Brazil
LATAM’s first E195-E2 aircraft are scheduled to enter service between November 2026 and March 2027. During the initial deployment phase, the first 14 aircraft will operate across 42 routes, including eight new connections and four destinations that will join the airline’s network for the first time: Cabo Frio (Rio de Janeiro), Ji-Paraná (Rondônia), Macaé (Rio de Janeiro), and Rondonópolis (Mato Grosso).
With the launch of these services, LATAM Airlines Brazil will operate the largest domestic network in its history. Looking ahead to 2027, the airline is evaluating up to 18 additional destinations that could be served by the E195-E2, further advancing its strategy of expanding connectivity from key hubs throughout the country.
The introduction of the E195-E2 will enhance fleet versatility, enabling LATAM to efficiently serve markets with varying demand profiles while unlocking new route opportunities. A further 12 E195-E2 aircraft are scheduled for delivery to LATAM Airlines Brazil in 2027, supporting the carrier’s long-term growth and network expansion plans.
LATAM and Embraer fast-track E195-E2 certification through close partnership
Following delivery, LATAM’s first E195-E2 will undergo the final steps required before entering commercial service, including customs clearance, cabin approval procedures, and certification activities with Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
LATAM Airlines Brazil is set to achieve E195-E2 operational certification approximately one year after announcing its acquisition of the aircraft, a timeline significantly accelerated through close collaboration between multiple teams across LATAM and Embraer.
In a first-of-its-kind initiative, LATAM utilized Embraer’s demonstration aircraft, the renowned “Profit Hunter,” to conduct evacuation trials, evaluation flights, and the training and qualification of pilots and cabin crew. This innovative approach reduced the time required to complete key certification activities by nearly 50%, while fully maintaining the highest safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
Inside LATAM’s new E195-E2 passenger experience
LATAM’s new Embraer E195-E2 fleet will feature 136 seats in a comfortable 2-2 layout, ensuring every passenger enjoys either a window or aisle seat with no middle seats. The aircraft will be configured with both Premium Economy and Economy cabins, with Premium Economy offering up to 20 seats depending on the aircraft configuration.
Passengers travelling in Premium Economy will benefit from additional legroom, enhanced seat recline, and an elevated onboard service experience. Across both cabins, LATAM will offer complimentary Wi-Fi for registered LATAM Pass members, USB-C charging ports at every seat, and access to LATAM Play, the airline’s inflight entertainment platform featuring movies, TV series, music, and a wide range of digital content.
The introduction of the E195-E2 further strengthens LATAM’s ability to serve markets of varying sizes while supporting the expansion of its domestic network across Brazil, connecting more cities through a sustainable and commercially disciplined growth strategy.
