Pegasus Airlines places historic aircraft order

Pegasus Airlines continues to expand its fleet with next-generation aircraft, and has made a significant investment in line with its goal of becoming a leading global player. Following extensive evaluations regarding aircraft requirements for 2028 and the following decade, Pegasus has signed an agreement with The Boeing Company for 200 Boeing 737-10 aircraft.  Under the terms of the agreement, Pegasus has placed a firm order for the first 100 Boeing 737-10 aircraft for delivery from 2028, with 100 additional purchasing options, which can be converted into firm orders in the future. The total value of the contract for 200 Boeing 737-10 aircraft is approximately 36 billion USD, based on Boeing's publicly announced current list prices.

The largest order in Pegasus' history not only supports the company's growth objectives, but also serves as an important step towards achieving its 2050 sustainability goals. This aircraft order signed with Boeing is a testament to the strong and significant collaboration already existing between the parties in the aviation sector. This agreement represents an important step towards establishing new partnerships and strengthening existing ones, both domestically and internationally.

We will evaluate converting the remaining 100 aircraft options into firm orders in the coming years, based on market conditions and the needs of our fleet. Boeing aircraft have been an integral part of our operations since Pegasus entered the aviation industry in 1990. We are pleased to be expanding our fleet with the new Boeing 737-10 model aircraft. We are confident that our collaboration will create new opportunities for local manufacturing, technology transfer, R&D, training, and employment in the Turkish aviation industry.  When considered within the scope of Boeing’s National Aerospace Initiative launched with the Turkish government in 2017, our order will also open new doors and create production and export opportunities both for Turkish manufacturers and for the wider aviation industry.”

An important step towards efficiency and sustainability

The Boeing 737-10, the largest single-aisle aircraft in Boeing’s 737 MAX family, offers high efficiency for short- and medium-haul flights. Powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines, the Boeing 737-10 stands out with 20% lower fuel consumption compared to previous-generation aircraft. With a seat capacity of up to 230 passengers, the Boeing 737-10 also offers a more comfortable travel experience due to its spacious cabin and large overhead luggage compartments.
