SWISS to operate new Airbus A350s on its Zurich-Seoul route
Following initial deployments on European short- and medium-haul services and an intercontinental début on the Zurich-Boston route, SWISS' new Airbus A350s are now to be assigned their first truly long-haul role: from 29 March onwards, the advanced new twinjets will operate services between Zurich and Seoul, bringing the brand-new ‘SWISS Senses’ cabin concept to the Asian travel market. The flights concerned will be bookable from the end of this week.
SWISS is to introduce its new Airbus A350s onto its Zurich-Seoul route from the start of the 2026 summer schedules on 29 March. Travelers will thus be able to enjoy the new ‘SWISS Senses’ inflight travel experience to and from Asia, too.
The entirely new SWISS Senses cabin blends modern design with more privacy on board and greater inflight comfort. The calm cabin ambience features state-of-the-art human-centric lighting which helps minimize the impact of jet lag, too. SWISS Senses also extends to an enhanced on-board service with refined meal selections and thoughtful details that all put a firm emphasis on Swiss hospitality, from the first welcoming drink to the landing the following morning.
After Boston, the South Korean capital is the second long-haul destination in SWISS’s upcoming summer timetable to be served by the Airbus A350. Which of SWISS’s first two A350s will operate its Zurich-Seoul services – the special ‘Wanderlust’-liveried HB-IFA or the classic-SWISS-liveried HB-IFB – is yet to be confirmed.
SWISS’s Zurich-Seoul services are presently operated with Airbus A340 equipment. South Korea’s capital has been part of the SWISS network since the 2024 summer schedules. The flying time from Zurich with the new Airbus A350 will be around 11 hours and 10 minutes, some 50 minutes less than the present operation. The flight is shorter with the A350 because the new twinjet is lighter in its construction, has more powerful engines and flies at higher altitudes.
SWISS provides a three-times-weekly service from Zurich to Seoul with departures on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
