Airbus to showcase deployable hospital at AMMA Conference
Airbus is participating at the Australian Military Medicine Association Conference in Brisbane, Queensland, where the company will showcase its TransHospital deployable hospital. The system is being developed with leading global healthcare company Siemens Healthineers and advanced deployable infrastructure manufacturer Zeppelin Mobile Systeme (ZMS).
Comprising a modular and scalable hard shelter and tent-based system, the Airbus TransHospital enables the full spectrum of medical care from first-aid stations to an operational hospital with advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities.
Typical capabilities of the system are on display within the Royal International Convention Centre at the Brisbane Showgrounds from 6 October until 8 October. The display includes a virtual reality experience as delegates move through the tent area.
“AMMA presents an opportunity to showcase our capability with our industry partners. The combined Airbus, Siemens Healthineers and ZMS expertise will deliver the benchmark for deployable healthcare required by the ADF. This critical medical capability carries the exacting standards expected of the aerospace sector.” said Mr Tony Fraser, Managing Director Airbus in Australia Pacific.
In addition, Airbus will present a paper at the conference, focusing on medical support missions in disaster scenarios.
In May this year, Airbus and Siemens Healthineers announced a teaming arrangement to offer the Australian Defence Force (ADF) a system of medical facilities, which can be readily deployed for both combat and humanitarian missions.
