New Chengdu Airport Secures 12 Billion Yuan Bank Loan
Chengdu's new airport is set to be built after Agricultural Bank of China agreed to bankroll its development, Sichuan Daily reported Tuesday.
The bank has agreed to loan the 12 billion yuan to fund the development of the new airport, which is set to be built on near Lujia town of Jianyang city, 51.5 kilometers away from the center of Chengdu city.
With a total investment of 69.26 billion yuan, Chengdu's new airport is expected to handle an annual passenger volume of 40 million in 2025 and would build three runways. Upon the completion of its new airport, Chengdu will be the third city owning two airports in China after Beijing and Shanghai.
