Airways Aviation and Vietjet form strategic partnership to develop new pilot training programmes
Airways Aviation has signed a major partnership with Vietjet Aviation Academy to provide new pilot training programmes in Europe. The agreement was signed in Helsinki during the official visit of Vietnam’s Party General Secretary Tô Lâm, with senior representatives from both governments and senior representatives from the governments and businesses of both Vietnam and Finland in attendance. The signing took place as part of the Vietnam–Finland Business Roundtable, an event aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in innovation, education and sustainable economic development. The visit marks the first of its kind to Finland in more than 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Through this partnership, Airways Aviation and Vietjet Aviation Academy will work together on a series of training initiatives, including specialised Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) and Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) courses. The programmes will comply with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
The collaboration reinforces Airways Aviation’s role as a global aviation training leader, whilst opening new opportunities for growth and cooperation in Asia and Europe. Furthermore, the specialised courses will serve to develop a new generation of skilled pilots ready to support Vietjet’s expanding international operations.
Alexandre Alves, Group Chief Commercial Officer and Board Member of Airways Aviation, commented: “This partnership represents another step forward in the development of world class aviation training between Europe and Asia. Vietjet is one of the most dynamic airlines in Asia, and we are delighted to combine their operational experience with our internationally recognised flight training capacity. Together, we will develop a flight line pathway that is practical, modern, and can meet the increasing demands of the global aviation industry.”
The cooperation between Airways Aviation and Vietjet aligns with the shared commitment between Vietnam and Finland to strengthen ties in economic connectivity, science, technology, innovation and human resources development. The initiative also marks a new era of partnership grounded in creativity, knowledge and sustainable progress.
