Etihad Airways Engineering has expanded painting facilities
Etihad Airways Engineering has converted Hangar 5 at Abu Dhabi International Airport into a paint hangar, expanding its painting capabilities.
The Middle East’s leading aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul provider, Etihad Airways Engineering has converted the hangar with chillers, improved thermal insulation, and a drainage system to suit painting requirements.
“We have significantly increased our aircraft painting capacity with the introduction of a new paint hangar as we continue to expand our MRO capability on new aircraft platforms,” explained Jeff Wilkinson, senior vice president technical, Etihad Airways.
The new hangar increases Ethiad Airways Engineering’s area dedicated to painting facilities by 150 per cent, from 4,000 sqm to 10,000 sqm.
