Join Dr. Adnan Baranbo in the 20th Episode of AVIAPRENEURS about  Efficient Business Aircraft Management  featuring The CEO & Accountable Manager at Emperor Aviation - Vice President at MBAA, Mr. Razvan Stefan

Mr. Razvan Stefan, an Aviapreneur from Romania with 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, living and working in Malta. Razvan is an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer and he’s the CEO and Accountable Manager of Emperor Aviation, a business aircraft management operator based in Malta that operates worldwide, and has more than 10 aircraft in its fleet, operating Cessna Citation, Bombardier, and Gulfstream aircraft. Emperor Aviation was established in 2013 by Mr. Irakli Litanishvili, the Aviapreneur I had the opportunity to talk to in episode 6 of the Aviapreneurs podcast. Razvan is also my fellow board member of the Malta Business Aviation Association. Razvan started his career as a ramp agent, load control master, and flight dispatcher in Carpatair airline in Romania, and then he climbed the corporate ladder to lead the OCC and become the postholder of Ground Operations for Hyperion Aviation before he finally joined Emperor Aviation as CEO.

Watch this Episode to know Mr. Razvan’s answers to the following questions:

  • What value do aircraft management companies provide to private and business jet owners?
  • Is it true that private aircraft owners can fly almost for free if they put their aircraft under a management contract that can charter the aircraft on their behalf at the times when the owners are not planning to fly the aircraft themselves?
  • What’s the optimal number of aircraft the management company must be managing under their fleet in order to cover all the operational costs and make a profit?
  • While most of the revenue of the business aircraft management company comes from the management fee, charter revenue is also an important stream of income. However, subject to owner approval, which is a condition in all charter quotes from management companies, makes it hard to compete against business charter operators who own the aircraft themselves and do not need any owner approval. How do you handle this?
  • What makes an aircraft owner go with one company rather than the other?
  • How do you prospect and win management contracts for your business?
  • What advice do you give to the new aviators, aviation professionals, and Aviapreneurs willing to grow in their careers and lead the aviation companies they are working for or the ones they have started?
