Aviation security - what comes to mind when you hear this phrase? Airport security, numerous security checkpoints and a barbed wire fence. Security alarm systems and video surveillance cameras. Passenger, baggage, mail and cargo screening points. Screening of personnel and crew members. I received such an answer from colleagues when meeting and maintaining a conversation. In general, they are right in their definition of aviation security. I would add a few more points to this generalized definition. But all the same, people working in aviation, specialists in its various branches will not understand what exactly, how and from what it is necessary to protect. The main message for me in writing this article, or a series of articles, how to get it, is to explain what aviation security is from the point of view of a professional and how it can be applied in the aviation business. Exactly how to apply mandatory norms, rules and procedures in the business processes of the airline. How to build an effective aviation security management process.
Imagine a cargo airline. I specifically chose this subject of aviation for description. Later, I will describe airport security processes and link them to airline security processes to answer the questions of what, how, and what to protect.
