Ruaviation reported a video was published online showing a Russian MiG-29K carrier-based jet taking off at a training complex imitating the deck of an aircraft carrier.
The training facility, called NITKA, is located near the city of Yeysk, in the Krasnodar Territory. The training installation has a mock-up of the deck of an aircraft carrier and was designed for pilots to practice taking off and landing from a carrier-like runway.
Equipment at the facility is similar to those mounted on the Admiral Kuznetsov heavy aircraft cruiser.
An aircraft needs only 150 meters to take off, less than on the actual carrier.
