Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) now has a sister airport in Montreal, Canada.
Beijing Capital International Airport Company Limited (BCIA) said Friday that PEK signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Montreal Airport on establishing sister airport partnership at the Beijing Global Sister Airport President Forum.
Montreal Airport said PEK is the first sister airport agreement it has established, marking a milestone in the friendly cooperation between the two airports.
According to the MOU, the Chinese and Canadian airports will share their best practices in hub construction, airport operation, personnel training, marketing and promotion.
In addition, the two sides will exploit the fast-growing China-Canada air travel market by launching the Beijing-Montreal non-stop service on September 29, providing more convenience for travelers between the two countries.
Up to now, PEK has established sister airport relationship with 27 airports including Hong Kong Airport Authority, Athens Airport, Changi Airport Group, Vancouver Airport Authority, Narita International Airport, Heathrow Airport, Munich Airport, Moscow Domodedovo Airport, Geneva Airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, etc.
