The first production CS100 aircraft will soon commence function and reliability testing, marking the start of the final flight testing phase, Bombardier said in a statement on Thursday.

A Bombardier CS100 aircraft, which was painted in the livery of launch customer SWISS, Thursday made its Toronto debut to perform demonstration flight for employees and local stakeholders including Toronto-based CSeries and Q400 customer, Porter Airlines.

The CS100 aircraft has successfully completed all noise performance testing and preliminary data confirms it is the quietest in-production commercial jet in its class, according to the Canadian manufacturer.

Bombardier has completed 85 percent of the CSeries certification program. It is on track to certify the CS100 by the year of 2015 and hand over the first CS100 to SWISS in the first half of 2016.

The CS100 aircraft is more fuel-efficient as it burns 20 percent less fuel than in-production aircraft, and over 10 percent less than re-engined aircraft.

Bombardier has booked orders and commitments for 603 CSeries aircraft, including 243 firm orders.
