Flyways Linhas Aéreas (FYW, Rio de Janeiro Int'l) has secured its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from the Brazilian civil aviation authority (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil - ANAC). As such, the start-up must still gain clearance from ANAC to commence the sale of tickets, something it hopes to complete in time for a revised launch date of December.
Using a pair of ATR72s (one -200 and one -500), the carrier will initially fly between its Rio de Janeiro Int'l hub and Belo Horizonte Pampulha, Uberaba, and Ipatinga. Brasilia, Juiz de Fora Francisco de Assis, and Porto Seguro are expected to follow in 2016 as are four more aircraft.
