A British Airways flight to London City Airport from Ibiza was evacuated after a female passenger was discovered with a 'fake passport'.
Police were called onto the plane at Eivissa airport after crew became suspicious of very nervous-looking woman, reports Periodico de Ibiza.
Gabriel Gimenez, who was travelling on the flight to Dublin via London, said the crew removed the woman from her seat before Guardia Civil officers started dismantling her seat.
Ms Giminez added: "We don't know what they were looking for.
"I don't know why they had to do this in front of everyone."
The rest of passengers were subsequently evacuated and their bags re-screened as a precaution.
In addition, the plane was searched three times by an explosives team before it was cleared for travel three-and-a-half hours later.
British Airways said in a statement: "The aircraft returned to stand after authorities realised a customer was travelling with incorrect documents.
"The customer was offloaded and, in line with normal security procedures, all customers and their bags were re-screened as a precaution."
