Donghai Airlines (DZ) will take delivery of a brand new B737-800 aircraft on September 22, expanding its fleet size up to 15.

For the new passenger aircraft's qualification requirement, Donghai Airlines has sent staff to Boeing's Seattle headquarter for acceptance check work, especially on the airliner's cabin hardware facilities and onboard electric systems, to further guarantee the delivery flight's safety.

The new airliner, Registration B-6980, is scheduled to take off from Seattle on September 19 and land in Shenzhen on September 22 via Hawaii, Guam and Tianjin. It will be put into service between Haikou, Changsha, Lanzhou and Nanning.

Registered in 2002 in Zhuhai, Donghai Airlines is the first private airline established in China. In 2004 it moved to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX) at the invitation of municipal government and now remains as a Shenzhen-based carrier.

To date, the company has 14 aircraft, with its cargo route network covering over ten cities at home and abroad, including Seoul, Osaka, Manila, Hanoi and Phnom Penh.

In March 2004, it accomplished transformation from a cargo carrier to a passenger carrier. Now it has opened nine passenger routes from Shenzhen to thirteen cities such as Shanghai, Harbin, Shenyang, Halar, Kunming, etc.

The new aircraft will be the Shenzhen-based carrier's sixth passenger aircraft.
