Israel national airline EL AL announced the acquisition of its fourth 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft. The new aircraft, named after the city "Nof HaGalil", joins EL AL's Dreamliner fleet currently comprising 16 aircraft of this type, twelve 787-9s and four 787-8s.
The aircraft offers three classes of service: Business, Premium and Economy, and will operate long-haul flights to North America, Europe and the Far East.
For its maiden voyage, the aircraft was welcomed on Tuesday August 1 with a traditional "water salute" ceremony at Ben Gurion airport, after a direct flight from Boeing's Seattle factories to Tel Aviv.

First EL AL flight operated on sustainable fuel
This date marks another milestone in EL AL's history, as it is the first flight to use sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This event positions EL AL at the forefront of the world's airlines in terms of sustainability and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
The arrival of this new 787-8 Dreamliner in EL AL's fleet is an integral part of the company's strategic plan to expand and rejuvenate its aircraft, offering an enhanced flying experience and greater fuel efficiency.
