In August 2015, Estonia's national carrier Estonian Air carried 62,355 passengers, out of which 58,628 on regular flights; the number of passengers increased 16.4%, out of which 16.1% on regular flights compared to the same period last year, informs LETA.
In the first eight months, Estonian Air carried altogether 404,109 passengers, out of which 388,808 on regular flights. The total number of passengers increased 9.7% and on regular flights 10.1% compared to the same period last year.
"Moderate growth in the beginning of the year and strong growth since June continued also in August when we saw very strong demand on our seasonal routes, like Nice, Split, Munich, Vienna, Berlin, Milan and Paris,“ said Indrek Randveer, CCO of Estonian Air.
"The passenger number was positively influenced also by increased number of transfer passengers. In August, our passengers were taking connecting flights mostly in St. Petersburg, Amsterdam, Kiev, Oslo and Moscow airports. Among connecting flights provided by the partner airlines most popular destinations were New York, Lisbon and Gothenburg, “added Randveer.
In the first eight months, Estonian Air operated 8,094 flights, which is 13.0% more than during the same period last year. In August, the airline operated 1,054 flights, which is 12.7% more than during the same period last year.
In the first eight months, the regularity of Estonian Air flights was 98.7% and the 15-minute punctuality was 88.6%. In August, the regularity and punctuality were 98.0% and 79.6% respectively.
