Finnair and CFM International are celebrating the achievement of three million flight hours by the airline’s CFM56-5B engine fleet.

The Helsinki-based Finnish flag-carrier first became a CFM customer in 1998 with an order for CFM56-5B engines to power 12 Airbus A319/A320/A321 aircraft. The airline took delivery of its first aircraft in 1999 and is currently operating a fleet of 32 CFM56-powered A320 family aircraft.

“The entire CFM team sends its warmest congratulations to everyone at Finnair on reaching this great milestone,” said Jean-Paul Ebanga, president and CEO of CFM International. “Finnair has an impeccable reputation in the industry and we are honored that such an airline continues to make our products such an integral part of its operations. We are proud to be part of this dynamic team and look forward to continuing our great partnership.”
