The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) has decided to revoke its letter to Russian aviation authorities where it required to seize Boeing 737 operations in Russia. The decision came after a special meeting hosted by the Russian Federal Aviation Authority together with representatives of Boeing, Federal Aviation Authoritie (USA) and aircraft operators, reports Lenta RU.

“IAC has revoked its letter, it doesn’t mean anything,” commented Natalya Filyova, co-owner of the S7 Group. Mrs. Filyova’s husband – Vladislav Filiov – planned to acquire the bankrupting Transaero, however, eventually he has decided not to buy the carrier.

On 4th of November, IAC sent an official letter to Rosaviatsia informing Russian authorities of its decision to suspend Boeing 737’s type certificate. However, IAC cannot suspend directly operations of any aircraft type as final decision is up to Russian aviation authorities. IAC is being headed by Tatiana Anodina, mother of Alexander Pleshakov, the main shareholder of Transaero.
