An Titan Airways Airbus A320-200 on behalf of Easyjet, registration G-POWI performing flight U2-5461 from London Gatwick, EN (UK) to Heraklion (Greece) with 170 people on board, was enroute at FL350 about 50 nm eastsoutheast of Venice (Italy) when the captain became unconscious prompting the first officer to don his oxygen mask and to divert the aircraft to Venice, where the aircraft landed safely about 16 minutes later. The captain was taken to a hospital and is being reported in a non-critical condition.

The occurrence aircraft positioned back to London Gatwick's airport departing Venice about 6.5 hours after landing. The aircraft has not yet resumed service about 9 hours after landing in Venice.

A replacement Easyjet Airbus A320-200 registration G-EZWT positioned from Gatwick to Venice, resumed the flight departing Venice about 6 hours after the landing of G-POWI and reached Heraklion with a delay of 6.5 hours.

The airline confirmed the captain needed medical assistance, the first officer performed a routine landing.
