Liebherr-Aerospace has signed a long-term service agreement with J-Air covering the overhaul of the landing gear systems of the airline’s 15 Embraer E170 family aircraft.

This new contract is another important milestone in Liebherr-Aerospace’s successful pursuit of landing gear overhaul campaigns. “Intense collaboration of the teams during the selection process has enabled us to find customized solutions, optimized to J-Air’s requirements. It is with gratitude, honor and excitement that we are now looking forward to further strengthening our partnership with J-Air.” commented Ekkehard Pracht, General Manager Aerospace of Liebherr-Singapore.

“JAL Group have signed a contract with Liebherr-Aerospace as a partner that shares and respects the value that the company provides to customers as a safe and reliable airline. At the same time, JAL Group respects Liebherr-Aerospace's commitment to further advance high quality maintenance standards. JAL Group is convinced that this partnership is the start of our long-term relationship”, commented Kojiro Yamashita, VP of Procurement at Japan Airlines.

J-Air, with its main bases in Tokyo and Osaka, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan Airlines (JAL), a member of the oneworld alliance.

The complete landing gear system for the E-Jet family (E170/175, E190/195) was developed and manufactured by Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH (Germany), Liebherr-Aerospace’s center of competence for flight control and landing gear systems.
