Strike action by the independent flight attendant’s organisation (UFO) has led to the cancellation of more than 900 Lufthansa flights from / to Frankfurt and Dusseldorf between 0430 at 2300 and those to/from Munich between 0430 and 2359 today (Monday November 9).
Flights operated by Lufthansa CityLine, Germanwings, Eurowings, Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, SWISS and Brussels Airlines are not affected by the strike action and expected to run as planned.
Germany’s nation carrier says it is doing its utmost to keep the effects of a strike to a minimum and to inform passengers as soon as possible but it estimated that 113,000 customers would be affected by the industrial action. It asks passengers to check flight status on LH.com.
Nearly all continental and intercontinental flights were cancelled in advance the airline says there are exceptions with flights between Munich and Frankfurt to London Heathrow, Dublin, Ashgabat, Delhi, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
