Royal Jordanian (RJ) has successfully attained the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Compliance Certification and Attestation of Compliance for the first year.

This accreditation was granted to RJ in recognition of its strict adherence to guidelines that safeguard consumers’ credit and debit card transactions through added reliability and security measures. 

RJ President/CEO Captain Suleiman Obeidat received the certification from Dr. Ramzi Al Sunna, co-founder of ScanWave CTS and Randomstorm manager in the Middle East, at RJ’s head office in Amman. RandomStorm offered Royal Jordanian a comprehensive range of its advanced scanning, monitoring and alerting consultancy services, all of which aided RJ receive the PCI DSS certification on the latest release of the standard version 3.1. 

“We are proud to be playing a part in securing payment card data globally. This achievement is a testament to our continuous efforts to protect bank consumer interests and deliver cutting-edge secure payment channels and services,” said Captain Obeidat. 

He added that PCI DSS is bound to protect RJ customers against fraud, secures RJ business reputation by eliminating the risk of non compliance with paying fines and fees, and maintains RJ agreements and contracts with third parties and acquirers. 

Sunna said: “We are pleased to work with RJ to achieve this accreditation for the first year. This reaffirms RJ’s unwavering commitment to delivering secure payment services to customers in Jordan and worldwide. It also emphasizes the ongoing efforts to propel the development of secure cardholder data environments and payment services in global airlines market as a primary player.”
