  • It is time to board, all you need in your hand is your boarding card or phone, your reading material, or headphones.
  • Watch the jetway, it can be wet, uneven, walk carefully.
  • Introduce yourself to flight attendants if you have any special training (law enforcement, fireman, medical). They may need your help!
  • Put your carryon luggage in the overhead bin on the opposite side of your seat, so you can see it.
  • Check around your seat and in the seat back pocket before landing Put away computer, IPAD, chargers and plugs
  • Be patient
  • Carefully open the overhead bins
  • Before pulling your suitcase out of the overhead bin, look around you, is someone under you? Do not pull the suitcase towards your head, but to the side
  • Don’t flash your expensive electronics or cash while walking through the airport and while getting into your transportation.
  • Situational awareness – is it raining at your destination? Snowing? Watch your step leaving the airplane (could be slippery, wet, icy)
  • As you leave the airport, do not talk to strangers who approach you for rides, take only authorized providers. Take a photo of the license plate before getting in the transportation. Take a photo of the driver. Send photos to a friend.
