Safran Landing Systems signed a five-year contract with airline company Wizz Air to carry out MRO operations on 57 aircraft of its A320 family fleet. The services are provided by Safran Landing Systems’ MRO facility in Gloucester, UK. Since signing the contract, Safran Landing Systems has already successfully completed the MRO operations of several landing gear legs belonging to the Wizz Air company.

Bruno Chiarelli, Executive Vice President, MRO of Safran Landing Systems, commented: “We’re delighted to have been selected by Wizz Air for the landing gear overhaul of a large part of their Airbus A320 and A321 fleet. We have robust and modern industrial resources that allow us to accommodate the growing demand for MRO services, served by the expertise and know-how of our teams.”

Julia Brix, Head of Technical Services, Wizz Air, said : “We are happy to announce the partnership with Safran Landing Systems for the overhaul of our A320F Landing Gear. Safran’s competitiveness for the offered services, its outstanding quality as the OEM for the Landing Gears as well as the commitments on reliability for our fleet were amongst the primary reasons for our decisions.”

Safran Landing Systems has a large rotable asset pool for single-aisle aircraft that can temporarily replace the landing gear under repair. This makes it possible to offer great flexibility to customers in an environment that requires constant adaptation. This contract also benefits from the Landing Life customer portal, covering all Safran Landing Systems after-sales activities.
