Sevenair the portuguese airline specialized in regional flights signed a wet- lease contract STP Airways to operate flights between the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe. STP Airways is the national airline of the country. This operation will start next Wednesday, May 4th and will last for at least August.
For the operation a Bae Jetstream 32 aircraft with capacity up to 19 passengers was deployed and will offer 2 daily frequencies for each route, one rotation in the morning and another in the afternoon on a total of 4 legs per day.
This allows up to 38 passengers per day for each side and also allows people to be able to return on the same day without the need of a layover for the night.
Apart from the crews deployed that will be involved in the operation some maintenance staff from sister company Sevenair Maintenance, an EASA approved Part 145 company, were also deployed and will support the necessary line maintenance for the operation.
This partnership with STP Airways and it’s largest shareholder euroAtlantic Airways makes us all very proud and we hope it can be expanded and last for many years strenghtening the bond between the two portuguese Airlines.
Sevenair throughout the years has become an expert in PSO (Public Service Obligation) and ACMI contracts having operated in Madeira, Azores, Guernsey, Cape Verde, Estonia, Morocco, Algeria and many more locations in Europe and Africa. We now add up one more to the list.
