A Singapore Airlines flight bound for Frankfurt was forced to return to Singapore after experiencing a hydraulic fault on Tuesday (Sep. 22) afternoon.
SQ326 was flying over the Bay of Bengal, according to information from FlightRadar.com, when the pilots decided to return to Changi Airport three hours into the flight.
The plane returned to Singapore at about 8:25 p.m. on Tuesday.
Five fire trucks and a police car were seen surrounding the plane after it had landed safely, evening daily Lianhe Wanbao reported.
"SQ326 enroute to Frankfurt returned to Singapore on September 22, due to a hydraulic fault," an SIA spokesman told The Straits Times.
The plane, which was carrying 105 passengers and 25 cabin crew members, was scheduled to depart from Singapore at 1:55 p.m. and arrive in Frankfurt at 2:40 a.m. Singapore time.
"The safety of our customers is our utmost priority, and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused," the spokesman added.
SIA has arranged for the passengers to fly to Frankfurt on alternative flights.
No one was injured in the incident.
