Germania Flug (GM, Zurich) has announced it will add a third aircraft - an A321-200 (sl) - to its fleet of two A319-100s with effect from October 25. The jet - D-ASTD (cn 5843) - will be used, inter alia, to operate flights to Pristina, Kosovo and Skopje, Macedonia for and on behalf of tour operator, Air Prishtina. This year, flights to Kosovo will operate not only from Zurich, but also from Geneva.
Though its A319 charter contract with Swiss virtual carrier HolidayJet (Zurich) has now fallen through, the Germania (ST, Berlin Schönefeld) subsidiary says it is currently in talks with a variety of Swiss and German tour operators interested in using its services for regional leisure flights. As such, given current projections, Germania Flug is considering adding a third A319 to its fleet to cope with an anticipated surge in demand during summer 2016.
