Regional Maltese airline, Universal Air, celebrated five inaugural flights this month, marking the official launch of its regular summer services to a variety of destinations in the Mediterranean. From its hub at Malta International Airport, Universal Air flew to Ibiza on 31 May, Corfu on 1 June and to Nice on 3 June. Routes between Pecs and Corfu (5 June) also began. Universal Air has a strong track record within aviation having provided charter and cargo services for many years from its base at Malta International Airport. Leveraging the island’s strategic position in the Mediterranean, Universal Air’s headquarters in Malta provides an excellent base for connecting with a range of destinations.
Universal Air’s CEO, Simon Cook, commented: “With the summer routes officially in motion, we look forward to welcoming passengers onboard our Dash 8 aircraft. Using our customer-focused ethos, dedicated cabin crew and environmental responsibility, we aim to enhance the low-cost customer experience for every route.”

The airline’s summer flight schedule will run until October 2024 with flights operating from Malta to Corfu and Palermo three times a week and two times a week to Nice and Ibiza. Prices start from as little as 30 Euros per seat one-way from Malta to Palermo including 15kg of checked luggage and a 7kg bag allowance in the cabin.
