Check-in counters for all domestic flights will be closed 45 minutes, instead of the current 30 minutes, prior to the scheduled time of departure at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX) starting October 13. the airport said in a statement.

The latest move is to provide customers with a safer, more punctual and smoother travel experience, said the airport.

The adjustment only applies to domestic flights. For Regional and international flights, the check-in close time is subject to airlines' notification.

The new rule will allow more time for passengers to check in themselves and luggage, thus to avoid missing their flights due to possible congestion.

Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport 2-2.5 hours earlier prior to the scheduled departure to leave enough time for their flights.
