An emergency evacuation slide opened on an Air China (CA) Airbus A330 aircraft after it landed at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) on Friday noon, said a source familiar with the matter.
The emergency evacuation slide near the door 2L accidentally deployed by a passenger on the flight after the aircraft taxied to the apron, according to a Weibo post by @flyjohn. No injuries were reported.
Flight CA4307, operated by Air Chin's Southwest Branch, took off from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) at 10:01 a.m. and arrived at Guangzhou airport at 11:55 a.m., according to VariFlight, China's leading flight status service provider.
The A330-300 aircraft, Registration B-5912, was handed over to the branch company on Feb. 19, 2014.
An industry insider said the incident could cause at least 200,000 yuan losses to the airline.
