London Biggin Hill is predicting an exciting 2019, hot on the heels of the latest WingX Advance report identifying the airport as one of the fastest growing in Europe over the past 12 months.

During 2018, London Biggin Hill grew by 12%, in contrast with a 1% decline in business aviation activity for London airports. The London Heli Shuttle service, extension of the opening hours, competitive handling fees and charges, and the absence of slot restrictions has fuelled this success, with much of the activity stemming from the charter market.

Robert Walters, business development director, London Biggin Hill Airport says: “Following significant investment in recent years, we have had an extraordinarily successful 2018 and finished the year on a particularly strong note. During December, we led the London market in terms of charter requests and saw a big increase in large cabin aircraft movements of more than 25%.

“We have a number of projects coming to fruition during 2019 and we are thrilled to be starting the year on such a positive note. We have a fantastic offering here at London Biggin Hill and are looking forward to welcoming more customers and aircraft in the next twelve months.”

London Biggin Hill Airport is located 12 miles from central London and offers award-winning VIP handling, a choice of FBOs, extensive hangarage, support and maintenance services for all ranges of business jets.

A designated UK Port of Entry, Biggin Hill is free of runway slot constraints. An exclusive six-minute helicopter transfer service to and from the heart of London makes it the fastest transfer of any London airport.

Biggin Hill is the only dedicated business aviation airport within the capital and is already home to over 65 commercial and aviation activities.

There are very few places in the world other than Biggin Hill where aircraft operators and support companies can conduct all aspects of their business operations, management and maintenance at the heart of a global city and with the confidence in their ability to expand and develop over time.
