Global passenger traffic at the world's major airports has risen by nearly per cent year over year during July.

The Middle East stands out as one of the key areas for passenger traffic, Airport Council International reports.

Last year, Dubai (DXB) recorded lower figures caused by a refurbishment to their runway.

This July, the airport has recorded a raise of 29.5 per cent year over year.

Even without DXB’s vast raise, the region still recorded huge growth rates. Doha recorded a raise of 24.9 percent, with Abu Dhabi and Tel-Aviv recording rises of 23.3 and 18.9 per cent respectively.

Unlike global passenger numbers, air freight volumes were not as impressive in respect to year over year growth in July. As key markets in China and oil production slow down, freight volumes have correlated with the loss of business.
