Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today announced a new route from Budapest to Porto commencing on 4 September with two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Wizz Air started operating flights from Budapest to Lisbon in March last year and Portugal quickly became one of the favorite destinations from Budapest for business and leisure travelers. In May this year Porto was added to the WIZZ network with flights from Warsaw and from September it will be connected with Budapest as well. Located in Northern Portugal, Porto is one of the oldest and most charismatic cities of Europe. It is renowned for its romantic atmosphere, beautiful architecture and picturesque historical center, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
With the newest services, Wizz Air now offers a total of 51 routes to 23 countries from Budapest. In total in 2016 Wizz Air already announced and will launch ten new routes from Budapest to Nice, Baden-Baden, Reykjavik, Liverpool, Ibiza, Bucharest, Sofia, Porto, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. Seats on the new route are already on sale and can be booked on wizzair.com.
Tamara Vallois, Head of Communications of Wizz Air said: ”We are thrilled to add today another exciting route to our network from Budapest – our broadest and most diverse WIZZ network. Porto is now the second Portuguese destination available at Wizz’s low fares from Budapest and we’re sure that it will be as popular among our customers as Lisbon is. We look forward to strengthening tourism in Hungary by providing more routes to Budapest as well as to continue to expand the choice of attractive destinations available at Wizz’s low fares and outstanding on-board service for our Hungarian customers. Seats on our new Budapest route to the charming city of Porto are already on sale on wizzair.com and our friendly crew looks forward to welcoming many passengers on board with a smile!”
