Bristol Flying Centre (BFC) FBO has reported a record number of aircraft movements and fuel uplift in June, thanks to the world famous Glastonbury festival.

BFC Group, which incorporates operator Centreline Air Charter, is the only private and business aviation facility in the region.

The festival and the period around the event is always one of the busiest times of the year for the Bristol Flying Centre. This year has been exceptional as evidenced by a record number of aircraft movements combined with half a million litres of direct fuel sales. The number of aircraft movements increased by 36% on the same period last year and the fuel uplift grew by 12%.

Glastonbury is a five-day festival of contemporary performing arts that takes place in Somerset in the South West of England, under 25 miles from Bristol airport. Glastonbury is the largest greenfield festival in the world, and is now attended by around 175,000 people, requiring extensive infrastructure.

Leading pop and rock stars headline at the event, alongside thousands of others appearing on smaller stages and performance areas.

“Being able to report a record month for BFC in June is indicative of the whole year on year growth we are seeing.”

Tanya Raynes, managing director of BFC Group said: “Being able to report a record month for BFC in June is indicative of the whole year on year growth we are seeing. It is particularly exciting to be a key part of Glastonbury which is such an important event to the region and the rest of the world. We will be ready to do it all again and hope to see an even busier period this time next year.”
