FCG OPS acquired the business of Astra Aviation, a well-established ground services company with an extensive presence across Africa. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in FCG OPS’s expansion plans, enhancing its service footprint in Sub-Saharan Africa by enabling the delivery of high-quality ground handling and trip support services.

Sergey Starkov, CEO of FCG OPS commented: “This acquisition represents a key step in our expansion strategy. Africa’s aviation industry is rapidly developing but remains operationally challenging, especially for European and North American carriers. By combining Astra Aviation’s local expertise with our service standards and infrastructure, we’re perfectly positioned to bridge this gap – just as we are successfully doing in Central Asia and various parts of Europe.”

Phil Eyre, Founder and Managing Director of Astra Aviation stated: “We’re proud to become part of FCG OPS, a company that shares our dedication to service excellence. This transition not only expands our service capabilities but also provides our clients with enhanced operational efficiency and technological approach of FCG OPS.”

Founded in 2005, Astra Aviation has over two decades of operational experience in Africa. The company is widely recognized for its deep local knowledge, industry-leading standards, and trusted partnerships within the region’s aviation sector. With a singular focus on the African market, Astra Aviation has become a preferred partner for international carriers navigating the region’s unique operational environment.

The acquisition will see Astra Aviation’s team of airport supervisors and Africa-based dispatchers join FCG OPS. Their on-the-ground insight and established networks will be integral to ensuring seamless service delivery and maintaining continuity for existing clients.

Integration efforts are already underway, with FCG OPS planning to fully onboard the Astra Aviation team into its infrastructure within the next six months. Throughout this transition, both existing and new customers can expect uninterrupted service and continued excellence in all operational areas. With this acquisition, FCG OPS strengthens its position as a truly global aviation services provider, offering unmatched support in Europe, Central Asia, and now a significantly expanded presence in Africa.
