The Independent Falcon Aircraft Operators Association (IFAOA) held its first annual meeting on Nov. 9 and 10, 2022, in Dallas. The event welcomed more than 70 owner/operators and flight department members representing more than 50 aircraft. At its first annual meeting, the IFAOA offered a program of technical and social content with a goal of building community. Presentations included a Falcon market overview; valuations; supply and demand issues; OEM approved cabin lighting upgrades; avionics obsolescence; cockpit upgrades; cabin management solutions; insurance and cost management.

Sean Lynch, group organizer, commented: “We’re so proud of this event. It was an honor to welcome owners, operators, directors of operations, directors of maintenance, pilots and technicians for discussion and fellowship. We thank them and our sponsors for making this a really engaging event. We had some great discussions about rapid increases in the cost of specific components such as engine LRUs, brakes across all models, and the high cost of avionics obsolescence.”

Members, some of whom have been heavily involved with the care of Falcon aircraft for more than three decades, appreciated having an independent organization provide a method of aligning many individual voices into one stronger, well-organized sounding board.  Conversations begun at the meeting will continue in the member’s forum on the IFAOA website.

The IFAOA was founded by Dallas-based aviation entrepreneur Sean Lynch to create a community for Falcon aircraft owners and operators. With well over 140 members to date, the IFAOA is focused on sharing experiences and providing resources to keep the fleet operating economically for many years to come. IFAOA members operate Falcon 10s, 20s, 50s, 900s, 2000s and a 7X.

The event began with a reception and dinner at the Frontiers of Flight Museum on Wednesday, Nov. 9. The technical sessions also were hosted at the Frontiers of Flight Museum the following day.

The free event was limited to IFAOA members and sponsors. Platinum sponsors include Aircraft Lighting International, Aviation Partners, Inc., Duncan Aviation, Engine Assurance Program (EAP), StandardAero and West Star Aviation.
