VistaJet has been presented with the Best Charter Operator 2016 Award from the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA). AsBAA is a non- profit trade association representing over 130 corporations, fellow trade associations, individuals & SME’s based in Asia and around the world from the General Aviation Industry. Its annual Icons of Aviation Awards ceremony both recognizes the best performing companies in the sector, and raises money for its chosen charity, Orbis, the Flying Eye Hospital.
The first round of voting for the awards is open to the public, highlighting VistaJet’s popularity with its customers. The winners are then selected by AsBAA members.
2016 has been a record year for VistaJet in Asia. It saw triple digit growth in flights from Europe and the US to the region in the first half, with Greater China proving particularly popular. With a dedicated Chinese- registered aircraft, VistaJet is one of the few international operators with the ability to fly domestically in the country through its partnership with Apex Air.
In the second quarter of the year, VistaJet sold over 3,000 new annual subscription hours worldwide, including large transactions for 400 annual flight hours or more. It also sold the largest single package of hours in its history in the first half, a sign that corporations are increasingly viewing access to an entire fleet as a priority option, rather than aircraft ownership. This is particularly relevant in Asia, where consistency of service is an important requirement. The company maintained that positive momentum in the third quarter; its performance in North Asia was particularly strong, with flight growth increasing by 40% and passengers number by 54.5%.
VistaJet recently took delivery of three new aircraft, worth $115million*, taking its worldwide operating fleet to 70 aircraft. The new additions mean that VistaJet now has the largest owned, super-mid to large cabin, business jet fleet in the industry, ensuring it can offer a global service no competitor can match. The company has more than doubled its fleet in three years, from 32 aircraft at the end of 2013 to 70 aircraft now.
VistaJet Chairman and Founder Thomas Flohr said:
Asia is a really important market for us, so we are particularly delighted to have received this award from AsBAA.
Our focus is always to provide the best possible service for our customers, and it is great to be recognized for that. We have worked hard to provide a unique offer for our Asian customers, including individually tailoring the cabin experience so they can enjoy the same personal and intimate service wherever they are in the world.
With the three new aircraft we have added to our fleet, we have cemented our position as the only company in the market with the global infrastructure necessary to provide a truly worldwide service to our customers, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
