West Star Aviation announced they have their first 8C inspection on a Bombardier Global Express aircraft in the works at their Grand Junction, CO location. 8C is an intense 120-month interval inspection that requires specialized tooling to perform. They will also perform a landing gear (restoration) inspection, the 1C/2C/4C inspection and other hourly inspections.
Additionally, the aircraft will be the first Global Express to be painted in the new 141,000 square foot Grand Junction, CO (GJT) paint facility.
“West Star was pleased to be the successful bidder for this work, beating out U.S. and International MX competitors—and even the OEM,” said Chad Adams, Bombardier Global Program Manager at GJT.
According to Chad, the feedback West Star received from the client upon award of the project included high praise for their responsiveness to the initial request for proposal and subsequent requests for information, as well as the value West Star places on maintaining the overall project cost.
The new GJT paint facility features two bays: One for strip, sand and priming; the other is a state-of-the-art downdraft bay. Each bay is 120-feet wide and accommodates aircraft as large as a Global 7000 or a Gulfstream 650.
