Wijet, the HondaJet launch airline, took delivery of its first aircraft at the Paris-Le Bourget Airport. These HondaJets will replace the fleet of Cessna Citation Mustangs the company has been using since its own launch in 2009.
The HondaJet has a remarkable spec. It is a super-modern twin-jet and can carry up to five passengers for a flying experience like no other in Europe. Its cruise speed of 780 kph opens up new destinations for Wijet, enabling the company to broaden the services it can offer its clients.
Quiet and spacious HondaJet sets new standards in European business transport and meets Wijet's improved requirements regarding safety, performance and comfort while still remaining competitively priced. Find out from March 21, 2019.
"With this bold and yet obvious choice, Wijet reinforces the maturity of its business model: With HondaJet we are offering our clients experience and innovation. It is also an honour to have signed a partnership with Honda, a legendary brand whose skill and expertise is renowned the world over. Wijet is, and always will be, constantly on the look out for what is best for our clients, in terms of safety, performance, comfort and carbon footprint. Wijet is growing and strengthens its role as sector leader with HondaJet at our side. Our companies have been powering dreams since 1949 and 2009,"
Jean-François Hochenauer
Wijet Chief Operating Officer
"The renewal of the Wijet fleet will enable the company to achieve goals that match up to its ambitions. Thanks to HondaJet's performances, the demands of its shareholders and a strong and reactive staff, Wijet is back in the game, with this new phase of development, a state-of-the-art digital app and prices that remain competitive for 10 leading destinations. I am proud to be the ambassador for this French business aviation gem. Wijet has risen to every challenge."
Youri Djorkaeff
Wijet ambassador
Founded in 2009, Wijet is the leading taxi-jet airline in France and Europe. It is the market leader and offers set rates per flying hour on a monotype fleet. It has carried more than 16,000 passengers.
Wijet is now innovating and optimising its operation with two partnerships: Flying Group now runs the Wijet fleet under a Luxembourg flag, and SGH supports some historic investors, loyal to the company, who recently invested together, through a joint entity in the Wijet group, to back this new phase which is so exciting for the company, its staff and its clients.
The digitalisation of the company, a stable anchor for its future, is supported by the rolling out of a uniquely powerful software programme and a distribution agreement signed with Amadeus.
