AVALON 2023 will open its gates on Tuesday 28 February as the largest AVALON ever, with exhibition space sold out for the first time in the biennial event’s 30-year history. AVALON 2023 will host 798 participating exhibitor companies, a 14 per cent increase over the 2019 event, and nearly 50 per cent more industry, government, defence and scientific delegations, at 234. This will include 22 Service Chiefs, 14 Representatives, 11 US Dignitaries, three Space Commanders and six National Armament Directors. In all, more than 40 nations will be represented at AVALON 2023.

The exposition will combine an international industry exhibition with a program of around 59 conferences covering aspects of aviation, aerospace, space and defence. They will include major themes on the development of Australia’s space industry, the rise of Advanced Air Mobility transport and developments in sustainable aviation.

From 9am on Tuesday 28 February to 11.30am on Friday 3 March, AVALON will be an industry only event. From Friday morning it will become Australia’s largest public airshow, featuring a program of Australian Defence Force, foreign military and civil aircraft including the Royal Australian Air Force Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II and Roulettes aerobatic team, the US Air Force Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor and a host of other military and civil performers.

In a first for Australia, the Republic of Korea Air Force Black Eagles display team will feature on the flying program at AVALON 2023. This will be the first time the internationally renowned team or its Korea Aerospace Industries T-50 Golden Eagles has displayed in this country.

Justin Giddings, CEO of AVALON 2023 organiser AMDA Foundation, commented: “AVALON is a platform for engagement between industry, government, defence and the civil aviation, aerospace and space communities. The success of AVALON 2023 reflects a buoyant industry that is looking to the future capability needs of the Australian Defence Force and civil aerospace and space customers. Industry is demonstrating that it can fulfil those needs from within Australia, sustaining a sovereign capability that contributes to both the security and national economy of all Australians. We welcome both the Australian community and our international visitors to AVALON 2023. We look forward to a week that will highlight Australian companies to potential local and overseas customers and partners.”
