The Dubai Airshow 2015 resulted in the signing of agreements worth a total of $39.8 billion, as compared to $200 billion at the 2013 exhibition, the organizers of the show said Thursday.

The agreement signed between the UAE Emirates airline and the US General Electric company for maintenance of 100 Boeing-777 engines became the largest contract announced at the airshow.

The United Arab Emirates signed the majority of military contracts at the exhibition, including an agreement with Swedish Saab company for delivery of two business jets, worth $1.27 billion.

One of the most important announcements to come out of the show this year was the settlement of the dispute surrounding the delivery of Russian S-300 air defense systems to Iran.

The Dubai Airshow 2015 was held in the UAE city of Jebel Ali between Monday and Thursday. This year’s show attracted some 800 companies from 50 countries.
